Types of Toy Haulers

There are two main styles of toy haulers: fifth wheels and travel trailers. Each one has its own list of pros and cons to consider, and one may be more suited to your needs than the other.

Fifth wheel toy haulers are a very good option when it comes to having control of your trailer on the road. Their elaborate hitch mechanism has a base that locks into the bed of a pickup truck, giving you stability. Travel trailer toy haulers, on the other hand, can be towed by a variety of vehicles, provided the total weight doesn’t exceed the towing vehicle’s gross combined weight rating, or GCWR. They are a more compact option, which can be good if you don’t need a lot of space. Travel trailers can be tricky to hitch as well, but with practice, they can be easily towed.

Cargo Bay Uses

The business end of a toy hauler is the spacious garage in the back of the trailer, made with easy-to-clean materials that are tough enough to withstand the heaviest cargo. Toy haulers feature a fold-down ramp that allows you to drive up your ATV or other vehicle. Sometimes this ramp doubles as extra seating space, and you can use the empty interior as an entertaining space during camping. Other cargo could be stored here if you run out of room at the front of your trailer, too. The cargo bay gives you more freedom to take what you want to on your adventures.
